A light yellow ammonia complex Cu (I) is formed when

dissolution in a concentrated solution of ammonia of halides and copper oxide (I):

CuCl +2NH3⋅H2O → [Cu(NH3)2]Cl + 2Н2О

Сu++CL-++2NH3⋅H2O →Cu(NH3)2++Cl--+2Н2О

Сu++2NH3⋅H2O →Cu(NH3)2++2Н2О

Cu2O + 4NH3⋅H2O → 2[Cu(NH3)2]ОН + 2Н2О

This copper (I) complex is unstable and oxidizes in air to [Cu (NH3) 4]
