15. In a multiple dilution series, 10 mcL of serum and 40 mcL of diluent are added and mixed in tube 1. From tube 1, 5 mcL are taken and placed into 20 mcL of diluent in tube 2. What is the final dilution of tube 2? (2 points)

For Tube 1 , Serum = 10 mcL

Diluent = 40 mcL

Therefore, Serum: Diluent = 1:4

5 mcL is taken out from Tube 1

In 5mcL Syrum = 1 mcL

Diluent = 4mcL

now in Tube 2

Total Diluent = (20 + 4) mcL

= 24 mcL

Syrum = 1 mcL

Therefore finally Syrum/ Diluent = 1/24
