1ppm contamination = 0.001gm contamination in 1000gm solution

Now 0.8 ppm contamination =0.0008 gm contamination in 1000 gm solution

Therefore in 1000 gm solution solute present = 0.0008 gm

ATQ, In 500 gm solution the amount of solute is = 0.0008/2 gm

= 0.0004 gm
