K₂CO₃ + CaI₂ ➝ CaCO3+2KI
This is ion exchange raction. So 2 cations of Potassium (K+) are substituted with 1 cation of Calcium (Ca2+). Calcium carbonate (CaCO3) is insoluble and formation of precipitate shifts equilibrium to the products formation. The reaction was balansed, as there are 2 cations of Potassium (K+) and 2 anions of Iodine (I-) before arrow should be the same number after arrow, so I put stochiometric koefficient 2 before KI .
