There are Four main measures for reproductive efficiency in dairy cattle;

  1. Calving interval which is the period between the first birth to the next.
  2. Conception rate which is the percentage of the cows serviced which become pregnant.
  3. Pregnancy rate which is the percentage of the cows which conceive out of the total eligible cows within a particular interval.
  4. Days open is the interval between calving to to another pregnancy.
