Polygenic inheritance refers to a single inherited phenotypic trait that is controlled by two or more different genes.

Examples of polygenic inheritance include; skin color and human height.

Pleiotropy occurs when one gene influences two or more seemingly unrelated phenotypic traits. Such a gene that exhibits multiple phenotypic expression is related as pleiotropic gene.
