Question #119287

Sorry I didn’t know how to ask follow up question. But I was curious if they hunted larger herbivores or bear how that makes them bigger does it affect as babies or adults or doesn’t matter because it’s good but why wouldn’t it cause them to get fat instead of huge size. That’s what I don’t understand how could wolf get big at 12ft long and taller height 5ft and weight nearly 300-400lbs

Expert's answer

Wolves hunt in packs, making them kill more prey. They are opportunist hunters as they aim large herbivores like the elk, deers and ungulates.

Feeding on larger herbivores makes wolves grow bigger in size, this in turn affect their predatory locomotor behavior.
