Why does growth of Etpum in medium 2 requires oxygen

EPTUM is an aerobic organism. Therefore, it will require the oxygen to carry out glycolysis followed by the krebs cycle to the electron-transport pathway. The oxygen is then used as the terminal electron acceptor.
