A megaspore mother cell is a diploid cell in plants in which meiosis will occur, resulting in the production of four megaspores. The aleurone layer is the outermost layer of the endosperm. Therefore it is also triploid and same as the ploidy of endosperm. If a megaspore mother cell contains 10 chromosomes, there are 15 chromosomes in the aluerone layer.
