Chemostat : It is the continuous culture system in which a single component is responsible for controlling the growth rate of culture media. It has been used for maintaining the bacterial culture at a constant density. In chemostat, growth chamber is connected to a reservior of sterile medium. 

Turbidostat : It is the continuous culture system in which specific growth rate controls by culture reactions and flow rate does not remain constant. During turbidostat continuous culture, density of continuous culture is measured continuously and kept constant by adjusting the pumping rate.
