The resident soil micro- and mesoorganisms could be classified in the flora and the fauna. Soil flora includes bacteria, fungi and algae and tends to be more. Particularly vital is their role in the retention, breakdown, and incorporation of plant remains. Soil fauna plays an important role in transporting and altering various soil features. They interact with microorganisms by grazing on bacteria and fungi and regulate the size and composition of microbial communities. Because of their feeding, burrowing, and movement, soil fauna transport microorganisms and modify the soil structure and thus habitat of soil microorganisms. In general, it is key components of foundations of feeding chains as producents and consuments.
