Identification of bacteria involves determining the species or genus in which they belong which helps in examining if it is safe or harmful.
The following are the tool and techniques used in indefying bacteria pathogens
- DNA sequencing – it is used to identify moulds, bacteria, and yeasts
- Riboprinter analysis – this technique is used for both bacterial characterization and identification.
- Repeat–based polymerase chain reaction –used for determining the similarity of bacteria.
- Polymerase chain reaction- used for rapid pathogen confirmation
