When an insect lands on the skin, it is perceived as an irritation of the tactile receptors of the skin. The signal of irritation is transmitted to the cortical part of the tactile analyzer, where information is integrated and processed and the conclusion is made that the stimulus must be eliminated. The signal about the stimulus is transmitted to the neuromuscular synapses of the necessary muscles of the limb to perform a motor act in the form of brushing an insect.
