Africans have higher chances of developing type 2 diabetes because most of them have more weight (from increased body fat) than the whites of the same age and height. High amount of fats in the body then makes them resistant to insulin which regulate the blood glucose.
Additionally, most of the Africans live below povery levels, therefore they fail to afford a good diet that keeps the type 2 diabetes at bay. On the contrary, the whites can afford health foods and regular diabetes check-up hence have lower chances of developing type 2 diabetes.
