Insulin and glucagon have antagonist effect because they have opposite functions. Insulin reduces blood sugar level by stimulating liver cells to convert excess glucose into glycogen and fat. Glucagon on the other hand increases blood sugar level by stimulating liver cells to convert stored glycogen and fat into glucose
