Affects parietal cell and they are unable to produce gastric acid leading to increased stomach pH.zymogens are gastric chief cells .when parasitised glands of the gastric mucosa are destructed, there's reduction of hydrochloric acid causing a rise in stomach ph, pepsinogen is not converted to active pepsin.
