Most polyps are benign. Adenocarcinoma is a malignant cancer. Duodenal ulcers are noncancerous (benign). Occasionally, gastric ulcers can become cancerous (gastric cancer).

MALT is basically associated with the blood lymphocytes found on epithelial surfaces. MALT lymphoma of the small intestine are usually malignant and not benign.
