Why does consuming glucose before exercise reduces the increase in plasma free fatty acid concentration more than fructose?
First off all, fructose needs four times more to be obtained by the organism than glucose. So basically, fructose has no time to act. Besides it, isomerical conformation mean a lot of for receptors, so glucose can bind with receptors specifically to lower the level of free fatty acids, but fructose is not. On a biological point of view, there is not a lot of information about it, but it may be evolutionary better, because glucose is included in numerous biochemical pathways, fructose not in same amount.
