When the stethoscope is placed on the chest over different region of the heart, there are four basic heart sound's that can be heard (listening to heart sound's is called cardiac auscultation).The sound's waves responsible for heart sound's (including abnormal sounds such as murmurs) are generated by vibrations included by valve closure,abnormal valve opening, vibrations in the ventricular Chambers,tensing of the sound chordae tendineae, and by turbulent or abnormal blood flow across valves or between cardiac Chambers.
