Question #65484

what happens in the Krebs Cycle

Expert's answer

During Krebs cycle, acetyl-CoA combines with oxaloacetate for gradual oxidation of acetyl group to carbon dioxide molecules. Oxidation is followed by reduction of FAD and NAD+, which move to the electron transport chain in their reduce form. During each cycle, one GTP molecule is also produced.
