Answer to Question #169617 in Cell Biology for Jane Lee

Question #169617

Explain what you consider to be the positive and negative aspects of cloning both scientifically and morally, giving at least three ‘for’ and three ‘against’ points – Discuss whether you think it is a good use of science and will benefit mankind or whether you believe it is unethical and should no longer be pursued? You can expand this discussion outside of therapeutic cloning if you wish and consider the idea that one day it may also be possible to clone whole human beings.

Cloning is the process of producing genetically identical copies of biological identity.

Positive aspects of cloning

1: Cloning helps in creating vital organs for patients thereby reducing cases of deaths.

2: Cloning helps in prevention of diseases. This is possible because damaged cells can be replaced with working cells that match with individuals DNA.

3: Cloning eradicates need for controversial medicinal procedures. Animal tissues can be replaced with human issues with no risks.

4: Through cloning, diseases like diabetes can be controlled before they mature since researchers study and test cures for such diseases through Cloning processes.

Negative aspects of cloning

1: Cloning contrasts with life definition. Life is killed when stem cell is removed thereby disrupting natural life which is considered as murder.

2: Extraction of female eggs is painful to the woman and costs fortune.

3: The process of Cloning requires million of female eggs to cure diseases in which their supply isn't enough.

4: Some of the cells mutate and cause tumers in patients during Cloning process.

Cloning process is a good use of science as it benefits the mankind. The process produces great solution to mankind problems as it offerers potential for generating medicine for treatment of multiple genetic diseases.
