What are the two member databases of UniProtKB? How are they different?

UniProtKB consists of two subparts: UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot and UniProtKBTrEMBL.

UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot is a manually annotated protein sequence database that contains information fromscientific literature and reviewed bioinformatics analysis. This subpart provides all known relevant information about a protein.

UniProtKB/TrEMBL contains high-quality computationally analyzed data obtained from automatic annotation. The database contains translation of annotated nucleotide sequences, as well as predicted genes.
