Question #95811

What do you think the accuracy level of DNS Assay for glucose measurement?

Expert's answer

Accuracy Level of DNS Assay for Glucose Measurement

DNS assay is more accurate above 50mg/ml dosage of glucose . The accuracy is usually weak below bellow 50mg/ml. For reducing sugars, glucose concentrations of 0-1mg/ml and 0-25mg/ml are used. The reason behind this is that high concentrations shows the same color range whereas in lower concentrations, there is a notable change. However, DNS assay method is associated with several shortcomings hence it is not the most appropriate for glucose measurements.
