Progestrone is pregnancy maintaining hormone, then why it is used in contraceptive pills?

Progesterone inhibits the production of other hormones stimulating the maturation of follicles, thereby ovulation occurs. Consequently, introducing a low-dose progesterone tablet, it is possible to suppress or inhibit ovulation (egg maturation).
There are four mechanisms of progesterone effects as contraceptive agent:
1. Violation of ovulation (the same effect during pregnancy - pregnant woman can not get pregnant simultaneously for the second time)
2. Develop a thick cervical plug that prevents the penetration of sperm into the uterus (the same effect has progesterone during pregnancy, when the cervical plug is formed).
3. Violation of the quality of the endometrium, which becomes unsuitable for implantation.
4. Reduce the mobility of the fallopian tubes and the movement of the cilia.
