2. What is the relationship between amino acids and the nitrogenous bases of purines and pyrimidines?
3. What is cloning? Cite its advantages and disadvantages.
2. Adenine and guanine are the purines in DNA, just as they are in RNA. Cytosine and thymine are pyrimidines in DNA; cytosine and uracil are pyrimidines in RNA. Purines are bigger than pyrimidines because purines have two rings, whereas pyrimidines only have one.
3. Cloning is the process of creating a genetically identical copy of another cell, tissue, or organism.
Asvantage: It helps infertile couples to conceive, and the kid is genetically changed to meet the parents' desires in order to appeal to others. Somatic cells are obtained from the male's sperm and inserted into the female's egg for fertilization during the procedure.
Disadvantage: The use of this technique indefinitely would result in a genetic bottleneck. Because all animals have essentially same, if not identical, genetic composition, the species is at a higher danger of extinction due to inbreeding.
