When water lacks hydrogen bonds, water molecules will move faster with less input of heat energy increase. Thus, causing an increase in temperature for each calorie of heat added. Therefore reducing the amount of heat energy needed to change phase from ice to liquid and liquid to vapor. Accordingly, the water temperature will affect the sailing boat in that the variation in density of water temperature will impact the speed of the boat by reducing the capacity for that hull immersed in water to display the weight of the boat.
