Electrophoresis is the motion of dispersed particles relative to a fluidunder the influence of a spatially uniform electric field. Electrophoresis ofpositively charged particles (cations) is called cataphoresis, while electrophoresis of negatively charged particles (anions) is called anaphoresis. In turn Gel Electrophoretic separation divided into several types: 1.1. Vertical (for the separation of proteins) 1.2. Horizontal (for separation of nucleic acids) 2.1. Speed (gel matrix consisting of multiple gels (the separation and concentrating)) 2.2. Uninterrupted (homogeneous gel matrix) 3.1 Native (with preservation of biological activity (eg. functional enzyme activity) 3.2. Denaturation (intended only to determine the molecular weight)
