Long discussion on Greenhouse gases and global warming
Greenhouse gases have three or more atoms. Such molecular composition allows these gases to trap heat present in the air. They then transfer the heat to the earth's surface, leading to warming on the earth. The prime greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide (CO2), Methane (CH4), Nitrous Oxide (N2O), and fluorinated gases. The gases occur in the atmosphere as a result of human activities. However, some of them do occur naturally. When released into the atmosphere, these greenhouse gases turn like a blanket, absorbing the Infrared radiation, thus hindering it from fleeing into superficial space. This further leads to steady heating of the earth's atmosphere and surface, a condition known as global warming.
