What is electric dipole moment
An electric dipole is a pair of electric charges of equal magnitude but opposite sign separated by the small distance. Therefore, the electric dipole moment is a measure of the separation of these charges within a system. The SI units for electric dipole moment are coulomb-meter. It can be written mathematically as follows:
