Explain the following processes of charging.
1.Charging by friction
2.charging by conduction
3.charging by induction
Answer
1.Charging by friction :When insulating materials rub against each other, then due to friction between two surface may become electrically charged . Electrons , which are negatively charged, may be 'rubbed off' one material and on to the other.
2.charging by conduction: Charging by conduction involves the contact of a charged object to a neutral object.
.
3.charging by induction:When an uncharged object is placed very close to a charged conductor without touching, the nearer end acquires a charge opposite to the charge on the charged conductors and the two bodies attract. This is called charging by induction.
