With the help of the diagram explain how you would determine the weight of the metre rule when you have been provided with a 50g mass metre rule, string and a pivot
Make a balance arm with a movable pivot.
Suspend the meter rule on one end and the 50 gram weight on the other end.
Move the pivot point until the balance arm is horizontal.
Measure the distances between the balanced pivot point and the suspension points at each end.
Calculate the ratio of the distances Weight/Ruler
Multiply this times 50g for the mass of the ruler.
