APPLY the concept to find the direction of induced emf and current by
a) Fleming’s right hand
b) Lenz’s law
a) Fleming’s right hand:
The right hand is held with the thumb, index finger and middle finger mutually perpendicular to each other:
The thumb is pointed towards in the direction of the motion of the conductor relative to the magnetic field.
The first finger is pointed towards in the direction of the magnetic field.
Then the second finger shows the direction of the induced.
b)
Lenz’s law based on the principle of conservation of energy.
Lenz’s law of states that the direction of the current induced in a conductor by a changing magnetic field is such that the magnetic field created by the induced current opposes the initial changing magnetic field which produced it.
