The Incan Civilization built this city high up in the Andes Mountains and remain undisturbed by the Spanish longer than other Native groups. How did geography enable this to happen?

Machu Picchu is really a place hard to access. It is situated almost 2500 meters above the sea level and the Spanish obviously saw little profit in conquering this city.
